Vauxhall Astra

Vauxhall have had a lot to shout about over recent months what with the new Corsa and the Viva making waves. Now there is even more to talk about with the new Vauxhall Astra that’s on the cards. So far we can only speculate as to what the end result will be with the 2015 Astra, but we imagine there will be some improvements made to its appearance, and many expect it will be much lighter than its predecessor. It is expected that the Astra will be ready for an official introduction by the end of 2015 at the Frankfurt Motor Show so we still have a while to go yet.

The rumours that are starting to spread about the new Astra are mainly as a result of comments made by Vauxhall’s chairman Tim Tozer who spoke on the different ways the current Astra could be improved: “The Astra today is a bit heavy. Can it overcome the 200kg excess? Nearly. But for the new model being lighter is key, plus interior touch and feel and powertrain investment.” The interior is definitely something that needs improving if the Astra is to compete with the likes of the VW Golf and the Peugeot 308 in that area.
