Mercedes reveals G63 AMG 6×6 prices

Mercedes has revealed pricing information for its new G63 AMG 6×6.

The model, which was unveiled by the German manufacturer earlier this year, has seen some significant changes from the standard car – most notably the fact that it now has six wheels.

The monstrous vehicle is powered by a huge 5.5-litre V8 engine, which produces 563bhp and 560lb-ft of torque. This allows for acceleration from 0 – 62mph in less than 6 seconds, however the G63’s top speed is limited to 100mph. While this may seem a little bewildering at first glance, it’s probably as fast as you’d ever want to be going in a car which weighs just less than four tonnes.

13702_1_lAs for the price, you might be forgiven for expecting the new six-wheeler to cost a little more than the current G63 AMG, which retails for a cool £123,975, but your expectations would be far from on the money; the 6×6 is more than three times more expensive than its smaller brother, coming in at around £380,000 (it costs 451,010 euros in Germany).

It’s clear from the enormous price tag that the G63 AMG 6×6 is targeted at a very niche market, with the first customers receiving their vehicles in early 2014.

Maybe the news isn’t too surprising, given that even the standard Mercedes-Benz G-Class will set you back £83,000. Lease deals are available however, and often represent a more financially viable option. They can be found at AutoVillage.co.uk.
